Mrs Brown's Boys star Brendan O'Carroll has new TV show ideas
Mrs Brown's Boys creator Brendan O'Carroll has revealed he is developing two TV projects.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "There are two things I want to do. The first play I ever wrote was about six losers who are taking a positive mental attitude course so they can sell insurance. It was really funny. So I'd love to make that into a six-part series.
"And the other project I'd love to do is a show that documents me and my family going to different towns, putting up a tent and performing. It would include footage of the shows and also stuff about the family on the road. I think it would be a nice series."
The stage show the comedy star mentions is 1990s production The Course. He has been on-and-off developing a TV version for over a decade, having revealed back in 2012 the BBC had commissioned a non-broadcast pilot in which he starred as lecturer Joe Daly, a man struggling to make something of the group of six no-hopers.
However, it looks like the new attempt may not be with the BBC. In this weekend's newspaper report he says: "I haven't spoken to the BBC about it because I might not do them with the BBC. They might be better suited to another home."
New episodes of Mrs Brown's Boys were filmed in May, for broadcast later this year. Meanwhile the stars are gearing up for another live tour; Mrs Brown Rides Again launches this August.
