Emmy trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2005. Her body of work as an actor includes "Spooks", "Doctors" and "Holby City" for the BBC, and independent British feature films, such as "Simon" (2016), and BAFTA winning Jane Linfoot's feature debut "The Incident" (2016). In 2019 she fulfilled a lifelong ambition to walk the cobbles as 'Rebecca' in "Coronation Street". Emmy has been admitted overnight to Holby City general hospital more times than a real life NHS hospital, and been to (fictional) 'Leatherbridge" (BBC's 'Doctors) more times than she has actual Birmingham.
Emmy's love of performing extends to the theatre & her credits include HOME Manchester, Royal Exchange Manchester, plus numerous London fringe venues.
Emmy sold her first piece of writing THE SMOKE, on option to ITV in 2011, on a co-production development deal with her development company, Smoulder Productions. Emmy is now working on an autobiographical drama feature about love and suicide loss.
Emmy fell into comedy writing & performing after a sketch - "Ghosterbusters" - about the horrific state of modern dating, pretty much birthed itself after a bout of bad dates in 2016! Following this, Emmy's comedy co-writer Lorelei Mathias set up Melon Comedy in 2017 and they were fortunate enough to receive accolades and nods from ITV Comedy 50-50, Funny Women, Comedy Central, Chorts, and the British Comedy Guide, amongst others. Melon's first half hour pilot "BATSHIT: A Prescription for a Crazy Planet" was nominated for Test Card Pilot: Best Uncomissioned Television Show at the 2020 Edinburgh International Television Festival. Melon Comedy has a strong focus on sketches that raise mental health awareness, particularly that of ADHD.
Using her creative voice to contribute to mental health awareness is a strong vocation of Emma's. Both Emmy and her co-writer, Lorelei have ADHD, (Emmy describes hers as 'the type associated with boisterous little boys, not the patriachy-approved type most adult females have that has recently come to press attention" -hence NHS - HOW could you miss this?!?!?), and strive to champion awareness and accessibility within professional arenas.
