The writer is Andrew Palmer and the producer is Edward Taylor, who produced The Men from the Ministry, and the two programmes sound like first cousins. You can make men at play sound light-hearted, but men at work are a lot funnier.

"The Men From The Ministry" (Monday) is, I have to admit sheepishly, almost my favourite programme. It is reliably and expertly smutty, but in the predictable and cosy fashion of playground jokes. It laughs at civil servants and politicians - hardly new targets. But it also laughs at technology - a welcome antidote to too much junior science.
