Casting announced for Nativity! The Musical

The cast has been announced for the world premiere production of the upcoming stage adaptation of the comedy film Nativity!.

The school nativity play is always exciting/nerve-jangling, but in writer-director Debbie Isitt's lively, likeable comedy, expectations are ratcheted up a few notches when it seems a Hollywood producer will be coming. Martin Freeman, pre-Hollywood stardom, is the teacher struggling to cope with rising hysteria as the kids head for a terrific cathedral performance.

And lo! Corny just got cute

Debbie Isitt's latest improvised comedy, following in the faltering footsteps of her Nasty Neighbours (2000) and Confetti (2006), is so atrocious that it might just find an audience.

Confetti offers plenty of sharp-eyed character humour and, crucially, develops each of its couples as credible relationships.
