David is an actor and writer. He adapted Steptoe & Son, Hancock's Half Hour and Porridge to the stage.
He also adapted and directed Ripping Yarns for a short run at The Arches Theatre who raised over 10k for The National Brain Appeal as Terry Jones (Ripping Yarns co-writer with Michael Palin) and David's father died of dementia.
He has also written the second stage play of Allo Allo ('Allo Allo - The Camebert Caper') with Steve Clark and David Lovesy represented by Samuel French of London.
'Steptoe and Son' and 'Hancock's Half Hour' stage scripts are represented by David Pibworth directly from his office on Behlf of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson's Estates.
David is the founder and Artistic Director of The Arches Theatre.
He plays occasionally in the comedy jazz band - The Bolivian Sunshine Dogs - and is still often called upon to play 'The Elements' by Tom Lehrer on the piano which he does just to check he can still do it.
He lives on the site of the venue with his wife, daughter, horses, dogs and cat.
