Comedians to appear in Celebrity Bake Off 2020

Russell Howard, Jenny Eclair, James Buckley, Joel Dommett, Caroline Quentin and Mo Gilligan will appear on The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up To Cancer.

British Comedy Guide, 27th February 2020

After a first half that's sleepy even by Doc Martin standards, this episode ends with two fine comic set pieces: first, a diagnosis battle with a vet (Caroline Quentin, reunited with her Men Behaving Badly co-star Martin Clunes), and then a layered misunderstanding involving a knife wound. Bloody good fun.

Doc Martin review

The first five minutes of Doc Martin (ITV, Wednesday) always have a whiff of Casualty (BBC1, Saturday) about it.

David Stephenson, The Daily Express, 22nd October 2017

A particularly fine episode of a comedy-drama that has 5 million discerning fans. Yes, it's quaint and tells the same tale every time, but the array of reliably funny minor characters gives it more laugh-out-loud moments every week than most sitcoms. At its centre tonight is Caroline Quentin as the rogue veterinarian Angela, whose blase approach to both the disruptive behaviour and scarlet fever of her nephew Toby (Rocco Peacock) results in a classic DM clifftop caper.

Neil Morrissey on MBB reunion: 'It's a pipe dream'

Neil Morrissey doesn't expect a full reunion of Men Behaving Badly to happen any time soon, though he'd love to team up with Martin Clunes, Caroline Quentin and Leslie Ash if the situation arose.

Tom Eames, Digital Spy, 19th February 2016

What do you do if a lonely little scruffy dog is stalking you? If you're Doc Martin, after being prevented from giving the mutt a lethal injection, you take it to a hippyish vet, Angela Sim (Caroline Quentin). Chuck in such plot developments as illegal liquor distillation and the perils of self-medication, and that's about as exciting as Doc Martin gets. Impressive, then, that it seems more than the sum of such inconsequential parts, perhaps because the ongoing odd-couple romance between Louisa and Martin anchors the dramedy.

Radio Times review

"Urine! Dipstick! Move!" barks Dr Martin Ellingham at his understandably alarmed receptionist Morwenna. Clearly, despite being heartbroken that his wife Louisa has taken their son James to live in Spain while she works out their marital problems, Martin's bad-tempered demeanour hasn't softened at all since we last saw him. On a more positive note he does agree to see a therapist, although Dr Rachel Timoney (Emily Bevan), while being young and attractive, is almost as acerbic as he is.

There's no sign of Sigourney Weaver or Caroline Quentin yet, both of whom make guest appearances in this series. There's Daniel Ryan as a local lifeboat hero in this episode. But the Cornish scenery is gorgeous, Portwenn is bathed in sunshine and Martin Clunes is as engaging as ever. Around nine million people will be very happy to see this doctor again.
