Women take the comedy throne at Channel 4
Game of Thrones aside, it is the women who catch the eye in Channel 4's forthcoming comedy line-up.
John Plunkett, The Guardian, 5th June 2016A quick word with... Caroline Moran
Okay. Cards on the table. We love Caroline Moran. She's funny, insightful and wears ace hats. And, oh yeah, she co-created and co-wrote one of the freshest and most heart-warming series to hit our screens in years. Raised by Wolves. She's also rocked journalism, theatre and stand-up comedy, so we were delighted when she found a few mins to chat to us about bad advice, the horror of networking and paraphrasing Della...
Gavin Collinson, BBC Writersroom, 27th May 2016Raised by Wolves to be adapted for US by Juno writer
Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody to create American version of Times columnist's teen sitcom.
John Plunkett, The Guardian, 24th May 2016Series two of Caroline and Caitlin Moran's comedy wraps up with the Garry clan taking a holiday - although Grampy's deceased friend's caravan in Wales turns out to offer little in the way of luxury. Worse still, Yoko is being driven to distraction by reports of environmental disaster, while both Germaine and Aretha are nursing broken hearts. In the portrayal of the latter, the normally all-guns-blazing sitcom proves it is also able to deploy a restrained and melancholic tone - although the gag-rate remains gratifyingly high.
Rachel Aroesti, The Guardian, 6th April 2016Caitlin and Caroline Moran's sitcom about their unconventional childhood in Wolverhampton returns tonight.
Life in the Midlands might already be a tussle with brutality but what happens when your internet is cut off and you find yourself stuck in Wolverhampton unable to do Google Image searches for Benedict Cumberbatch both with and without his hats? Or, if your sexual tastes run that way, for "Andrew Marr on his moped"?
Their mother, Della, cancels the family's internet as it's too expensive so the frantic siblings are forced to use the grimy PCs at the local library where a romantic escapade awaits the irritating, hysterical Germaine.
Meanwhile, Della, still in her jumpsuit and glaring at the world like a mean cowboy surveying the dusty, deadbeat town he's just moseyed on into, goes on an expedition to the "poor woman's IKEA" ie, a local skip where the family might forage through the junk for something useful.
Julie McDowall, The National (Scotland), 2nd March 2016Caz and Caitlin Moran on where comedy & real life meet
The sisters reveal what they really thought of each other growing up, and how they manage to work together now, as series two of their Channel 4 sitcom begins.
Alexia Skinitis, Radio Times, 2nd March 2016Raised By Wolves series 2 episode 1: 'fizzingly funny'
Raised By Wolves packs more ideas and invention into one episode than lesser comedies do in an entire series. Besides, any programme where the favoured insult is "wazzock" is fine by me.
Michael Hogan, The Telegraph, 2nd March 2016Radio Times review
The ideal show for anyone who complains about how eccentric their family is. Because Caitlin and Caroline Moran's sitcom is about a loving, hilarious brood who are also really quite unusual. The show smashed taboos every week when it first aired -- and the destruction was a joy to witness. It's also about the universal, tricky experience of being a teenager. And a female one at that.
Kasia Delgado, Radio Times, 15th November 2015Raised By Wolves gets second series
Channel 4 has ordered a second series of Caitlin and Caroline Moran's sitcom Raised By Wolves.
British Comedy Guide, 8th June 2015Why Raised by Wolves deserves a second series
We need more of Caitlin and Caroline Moran's taboo-smashing Channel 4 sitcom, says Kasia Delgado...
