Review: Please Help, BBC Three/iPlayer

This is one of those comedies that can be read on at least two levels. It's daft fun, certainly, but it also seems to be making a serious comment about the pressure put on the mental health of individuals by the inadequacy of the NHS care system, which can place a heavy burden on family members.

New tour dates for Jack Dee

When everyone's favourite grumbler, Jack Dee, announced he was returning to the stand-up stage in 2019 with Off The Telly, his first solo tour in six years, tickets flew off the shelves selling out the initial dates at incredible speed, and the was tour extended in to 2020 in order to meet exceptional public demand. Now this tour has been fully rescheduled and even more dates have been added, including the iconic London Palladium on Friday 30th September 2022.

In March 2020, for the first time in its 40-year run, NewsRevue was forced to close. The team innovated and went online with the NewsRevue Podcast. NewsRevue will return to the stage on July 14.

Comedians enjoy England victory at Wembley

Rhys James, Rob Beckett, Josh Widdicombe, Lloyd Griffith and Charlie Baker were among the stand-ups at the match. Oh and Three Lions stars David Baddiel and Frank Skinner were inevitably reunited at the game. Spare a thought however for UK-based German comedian Henning Wehn who was one of the few German fans at the match.

Crowdfunder campaign launched for Bottom book

Legendary comedians Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson's hit sitcom Bottom first landed on BBC2 in 1991. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the creators of popular podcast Talking Bottom are set to release a companion book to delve deeper into the making of Bottom and honour its comedy legacy. Crowdfunding publisher Unbound today [Monday 28th June] launches its reader-funded campaign - meaning comedy fans must pledge their support to make the book, Talking Bottom: A guide to the cult sitcom, a reality.
