Rufus Hound's outspoken austerity & NHS rant released

An audio recording of an impassioned "meltdown" by Rufus Hound that was cut from a programme has been released. Hound's vociferous attack on government financial policy was recorded in June as part of a forthcoming edition of the next series of R4's Museum of Curiosity. It has been made available with Hound's consent by the programme's producer Richard Turner.

News: comedians vote for best comedians

Voting is currently underway for the UK Circuit Comedian Awards. There are three awards - Comedian's comedian, best MC and an award for outstanding 30+ years continuous circuit work. Last year's Circuit Comedian winner Gavin Webster (pictured) is organising the vote, which ends at midnight on 23rd December, with the winner announced shortly after.

I went to see Bill Bailey at the Vaudeville Theatre last night. I reviewed the show for the Evening Standard and gave it four stars. During a brief email exchange with a sub-editor I mentioned that it was nearly a five star show and she replied that my review made it sound like almost a five star review too.
