Wendy Wason interview

Wendy Wason's latest show Tiny Me is about attempting to make the world a better place when we are such a small part of it.

Live Review: Iain Stirling

At times in his set - particularly when he does a cockney accent - he reminded me of Russell Kane, another comedian who has been in danger of being caught between stand-up and presenting stools. Kane seems to be negotiating a successful path through this tricky terrain at the moment. Let's hope Stirling can do the same.

Interview: rarely asked questions - Tape Face

The Boy With Tape On His Face had done pretty well. Following his success at the Edinburgh Fringe, reaching the final of America's Got Talent and announcing a run on the Las Vegas Strip he is coming to London with his first West End residency starting on June 6. If you haven't seen Tape Face - as he is now known - before, you are in for a genuine treat. Leave all your preconceptions and prejudices about silent comedy at the door as New Zealander Sam Wills welcomes you into his magical world where everyday objects from toilet seats to balloons take on a whole new meaning. The West End season promises to be a bigger, brighter and more theatrically spectacular re-imagining of everything his fans have come to expect. In a rare break from tradition Tape Face spoke - well, wrote down the answers - to our Rarely Asked Questions.

Review: Adam Kay, Cottiers, Glasgow Comedy Festival

Adam Kay used to be a full-time doctor but these days he doesn't have to worry about saving people's lives, he just has to worry about getting bad reviews. Not that he is going to get any for his current show, which he premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe last summer and revived for a Glasgow Comedy Festival one-off this week.

Interview: rarely asked questions - Emma Sidi

Emma Sidi is a comedian on the way up. In the last couple of years she has been busy establishing herself as a formidable personality in all the right places. She has been in TV's Drunk History and online YouTuber satire Pls Like to name two excellent things. And she recently picked up a Chortle Award nomination for Best Character/Variety Act. Sidi currently has her own live show too, Telenovela, which comes to London this week. Think Mexican passion, soap operatic pain, transglobal heartache and dancing. Find out more about Emma Sidi below and go and see the show.

Live review: Stuart Goldsmith, The Stand, Glasgow

Marketing teams take note. It was interesting to discover how Stuart Goldsmith sold most tickets for his show at the Glasgow Comedy Festival. Not through PR. Not through advertising. Through his podcast. A mention of his excellent Comedian's Comedian interview series (200 guests and counting) got hands shooting up into the air as if he was giving away free shortbread.

Live review: Simon Munnery, The Stand, Glasgow

One of the best shows at the Edinburgh Festival last summer was a special retrospective greatest hits gig by Simon Munnery marking his three decades in show business. In a way his current tour, Standing Still, which also premiered in Edinburgh in 2016, feels like a potted version of that show, harking back to his best bits.
