TV review: Question Team
Maybe the programme won't be snapped up by Channel 4 like Taskmaster was, but who knows - I'd certainly watch DIY-Why-Aye every week if it was presented by Bob Mortimer.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 13th October 2021Book review: And Away... Bob Mortimer: The Autobiography
Now in his sixties, he is a now a much-loved, warm-hearted figure with an eccentric, unique and often spectacularly original mind. He is a national treasure.
Chris Hallam, Chris Hallam's World View, 13th October 2021Question Time review
It's a good job Bob Mortimer is a guest in the opening episode of Question Team, else producers might be accused of ripping off Vic & Bob's chaotic, surreal and disrespectful approach to the panel show premise.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 12th October 2021Bob Mortimer: And Away... The Autobiography review
Here the humour is tempered with a more emotive edge, typical of a book that deftly combines all the varied aspects of Mortimer's eventful, fascinating life and paints a fully three-dimensional picture of this much-loved figure.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 11th October 2021Bob Mortimer interview
"I'm comfortable with getting older, but I try not to look in the mirror."
Katherine Hassell, The Guardian, 9th October 2021Bob Mortimer interview
"Depression is like every vein, artery and cell in your body is filled with dark sadness."
Paul Henderson, GQ, 6th October 2021Bob Mortimer book review
The Gone Fishing star opens up.
The Times, 3rd October 2021The week in audio: And Away...
Bob Mortimer, who reads it himself, has an uneven delivery, sometimes swallowing his words, but when he steps into silly character he's absolutely hilarious.
Miranda Sawyer, The Guardian, 2nd October 2021How Bob Mortimer went from sidekick to standalone
An often moving memoir examines the comedian's unlikely journey from Big Nights Out to riverbank ruminations with Paul Whitehouse.
Stephanie Merritt, The Observer, 26th September 2021Book review: Bob Mortimer The Autobiography - And Away
Let's get the obvious out of the way. Bob Mortimer is pretty much established as a national treasure. Maybe not in the Judi Dench league just yet, but for a generation of comedy fans - maybe a couple of generations - he is up there with the showbiz legends. So it's great to hear his story of how he got there first-hand.
