Overall, this was a confident start to a project that I was admittedly predisposed to support. As long as the show really engages with whatever's in the newspapers, adds a bit of bite to the satire, and doesn't get tempted into retreating into the relatively safe environment of celebrity culture too often, then I'll be happy to follow the rest of Tonightly's 16-night run.

It's virtually impossible to name a sketch show that isn't 'hit and miss', it goes with the territory, but this certainly erred on the side of miss.

More disappointing, however, was how predictable and safe many of the sketches were - I could have written much of this review before the show even began, and that's a real shame.

Why I Still Can't Make Up My Mind About... Green Wing

Normally we split these posts into 'Why I Love... A Certain Programme' and 'A Certain Programme - Why?' But the fact is, I just can't make up my mind when it comes to Green Wing. I realise, by the way, that this isn't the most topical show that I could turn my attention to, but for that you can blame the fact that Channel Four are currently allowing you to download or stream the best of their homegrown comedy shows for free, on 4oD. I already own and treasure my Peep Show and Spaced box-sets, so I thought I'd have a go at Green Wing.

TV Scoop Review

This one I really *wanted* to be good. I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. While there were some laughs to be had, it has to be admitted that it was bit of a let down.
