Recording diary: Day 1. It's a living thing
Today is Day One of Mr Blue Sky Series 2. It is a year to the day that we embarked upon the recording of Series 1.
Andrew Collins, 8th March 2012Andrew Collins: Fresh Meat review
I haven't written about Fresh Meat, now five hour-long episodes into its first series of six on C4, but it is officially my favourite comedy of 2011.

If you're read the names of the cast in the press release, you'll know we've been very lucky.

So, Episode 2 of Mr Blue Sky aired on Radio 4 this morning at the convenient time of 11.30am; I listened to it on headphones via my laptop in the British Library, which felt a bit weird. Secretly listening to my own work.
Andrew Collins, 23rd May 2011Be glad of first night nerves
It doesn't get any easier. The first episode of Mr Blue Sky aired this morning, at 11.30, on BBC Radio 4. I was as nervous before it went out as I might have been waiting in the wings to go onstage.
Andrew Collins, 16th May 2011Jonty De Wolfe: Sitcom Monster

My third show, and third full house. This is hugely pleasing for me, and a relief thus far, as I had no idea who, if anyone, would come, and without ticket sales, it's impossible to know in advance.
Andrew Collins, 10th August 2010Between going out and not going out
It will come as no surprise to learn that I have been hard at work on the fourth series of BBC1 sitcom Not Going Out, which we hope will air before the end of the year...
Andrew Collins, 31st May 2010I've been irritated and underwhelmed by new comedy drama Married Single Other, whose decent cast (including the ubiquitous Shaun Dooley) are battling against clunky exposition and a patina of arch wit that seems to make every character sound like every other character ie. arch and witty. That said, I haven't written a piece of drama that's actually been on telly since EastEnders and that's eight years ago now, so maybe I'm not in a position to nitpick.
