My Comedy Hero: Andi Osho on her comedy idols

My comedy heroes are always changing. I remember Jackie Mason being big in this country for a while and other influences have been Jack Dee and Victoria Wood. And Russell Brand was for a spell, but now that he's moved off into a different sphere of celebrity, I'm not as inspired by his work anymore.

She's a rapidly rising stand up star who thinks we need tough love and would like to get it on with Bill Hicks. Sort of.

Andi Osho on Let's Dance: I've had four micro-cries

I've shot myself in the foot. Not literally, of course. That would make Let's Dance For Comic Relief too big a challenge even for me, and I love a challenge. It's the final week of training and I'm beginning to realise quite how difficult my routine is. Problem is, I chose it.

Allegations of sleaze scuppered affable comic Jason Manford's recent move into the mainstream, leading to his hasty resignation from the BBC's The One Show. Tonight's mix of music and comedy shouldn't frighten the horses, though. Manford is joined by Al Murray's Pub Landlord character and laid-back British-Nigerian comedian Andi Osho. Funk star Jamiroquai and mellow singer-songwriter Rumer (who recently won John Prescott's approval) provide the music.

The Now Show Preview - A Blessed Tribute

Guests on tonight's Now Show include Marcus Brigstocke, Andi Osho, Laura Shavin and Mitch Benn. In fact, here's a preview of Mitch right now with his affectionate tribute to Brian Blessed, who's been in the news this week.

Thanks to a spread of guests ranging from mediocre to tolerable, McIntyre's last stop on his televised tour is underwhelming. Headline act Ardal O'Hanlon peddles his usual awkward material with sloppy delivery. Canadian comic Sean Collins and Londoner Andi Osho seem to impress the audience (made up of most of the Emmerdale cast including Pauline Quirke), but would surely be hard pressed to squeeze a smirk from a crowd not already lubricated by such a clever compere. McIntyre is in Leeds for the last leg, so naturally he's tried to think of some funny things to say about the locals. He does well, picking them up on their tendency not to say "the" and also gently mocking Yorkshire folks' love of a carvery. His material isn't pioneering (at times it's pretty thin), but when he adds a silly walk and his twangy delivery, it usually comes together.

Andi Osho interview

The Stand Up For The Week regular admits that the right vehicle has yet to pull up, and is refreshingly honest about her TV success to date.

Perfectly timed to ward off those back-to-school blues, the ever-popular topical panel show returns after a summer holiday. Tonight's guests are Thick of It star Chris Addison, Andi Osho - both fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe - and Milton Jones, who does a fine line in ludicrous puns. Unlikely to let them get a gag in edgeways are regulars Hugh Dennis, Russell Howard and Andy Parsons, while host Dara O'Briain dishes out points. Expect an impudent digest of the week's news, arbitrary scores and puerile one-liners aplenty.
