Amy Xander is a comedian and writer originally from Dorset, now based in London. She has written for various BBC Radio comedy shows such as Breaking the News, The Now Show, DMs Are Open and Newsjack. She was selected by the BBC Writersroom for their 2019/2020 comedy development scheme, after they chose her sitcom script from over 3,000 entries. She also received the runner-up prize in the 2019 David Nobbs Memorial Competition and in 2021 she was a finalist in the Chorts! sketch competition. In 2023 she was a runner-up in the Big Finish Comedy Playhouse competition, with her sitcom set to be recorded by Big Finish in 2025. In 2022 she won the Female Pilot Club Script Callout, and was nominated again in both 2024 and 2025. As a stand-up, she reached the semi-finals of both the So You Think You're Funny new act competition and the Max Turner Prize.
