Amit Shah is a comedy actor known for playing Rashid in the feature film The Infidel, written by David Baddiel, Fred in the Channel 4 comedy series Crashing, and The Mexican in the BBC dark comedy Stag.

Born in North London in 1981, Amit Shah's parents were originally from Kenya and his grandparents from India.
His first experience in acting was as the lead in a school play aged 16, and he was later educated at Staffordshire University, where he studied Drama, before training at LAMDA in West London.
In 2003 he was given special permission from LAMDA's Principal to graduate early, before his peers, so as to be able to participate in the first rehearsals Bombay Dreams, a West-End musical produced by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and composed by AR Rahman.
An accomplished theatre actor, in 2006 he was offered a role in The Royal Hunt of the Sun at the National Theatre, and has performed numerous other plays at this theatre. In 2007 he was presented with an Ian Charleson Award for his performance as Abel Drugger in the NT's 'The Alchemist'.
He is known to British audiences for playing the role of Rashid, son of Mahmud (played by Omid Djalili) in British comedy film The Infidel, written by David Baddiel.
Within film, he took the lead role in the comedy short The Orgy, alongside Alexandra Roach and Dustin Demri-Burns, and also played the role of Samir in Johnny English Strikes Again, alongside Emma Thompson, Ben Miller, and Rowan Atkinson. Moreover, in 2014 he played the role of Mansur in DreamWorks' The Hundred Foot Journey, a feature film produced by none other than Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey.
