Hi Alice. Who are you and what do you do in comedy?
I'm disabled and my name is Alice. I am also a writer.
Tell us about how you first became involved in the comedy world.
I wrote a script about my experience of being diagnosed with a chronic illness in your 20s. The BBC liked it (obviously) and now I am part of the Comedy Writersroom as of Sept 2020. Before that I hadn't even tweeted.
Tell us about your comedy favourites.
I love Julia Davis especially Nighty Night and Dear Joan and Jericha. I love the podcast and live show Mortified where people read their teen diaries. I am enjoying Pen15 and Insecure at the moment as well as Daisy May Cooper and Alistair Green on social media.
The comedy industry is competitive. Why should people pick you to work with?
I have a golden ticket. I'm disabled, working class (debatable now) and female.
(But I am white and straight)
What's the best advice you've ever been given, read or heard?
Hands. Face. Space.
Where would you like to be in 10 years' time?
I would like to be writing an ep of Eastenders in a flat with double glazing.
If you ever get free time, how do you spend it?
This question has taken up quite a lot of my free time...
If a genie offered you one wish, what would you ask for?
(Selfless answer) Tax the super rich!
(Selfish answer) vegan Mars bar
