Comedy Blaps - Lives Of The Infamous Part 2
Part 2 of Lives Of The Infamous reveals the remarkable change in fortunes of the Wanger Twins, Adam and Dunhill. We witness the decline of their nightclub empire and the unexpected new-found fame with a novelty pop single. The song, Wet Spanish Legs, proved a huge hit in Greece, but it also led to their final, ignominious downfall, live on television, with the death of celebrated Greek chatshow host, Terrios Espass.
Peter Firth (Spooks) narrates the extraordinary memoirs of twins Adam and Dunhill Wanger as told through achieve footage and interviews, by those who knew them best. The Wanger brothers ruled London's murky underworld in the Swinging 60s, before being brought to their knees by an ingenious Scotland Yard sting led by DCI Donald Ponk (Jim Broadbent) during the Miss London pageant of 1965. But it was an unlikely stint as pop starts following their smash Euro hit Wet Spanish Legs that put them back on the front pages.
This comedy mockumentary is written and performed by David Crow (Bill), Jim Howick (Horrible Histories, Yonderland) and Oliver Maltman (Another Year, Happy-Go-Lucky), with Jim Broadbent guest starring as DCI Donald Ponk.
