Our favourite soap characters battle each other, Street Fighter style!

Soap Fighter II features the work of Tumblr and Facebook artist, Jim'll Paint It, who was commissioned by Channel 4's Mashed YouTube channel to create the artwork and designs for this clip. Jim says: "This project was a huge amount of fun. As an obsessive gamer and a lover of old school soaps, reincarnating Pat Butcher for one final fight with Peggy Mitchell was a massive privilege."

#Mashed channel producer Tom Jenkins elaborates: "This is easily one of my favourite clips from the seventy or so short clips we have on the #Mashed channel. Jim's work is awesome and unique. His attention to detail capturing UK soap stars alive and dead has been meticulous and the new special moves we developed pay homage to the games and the soaps - watch it and you'll see what I'm talking about. The music we've used perfectly compliments the action on screen, thanks to Joe Charles, who composed new tracks that nail the iconic sound of the early 90's arcade era. If you, like me, spent your youth and meagre funds playing on the arcades and watching Neighbours, EastEnders or Coronation Street (usually so you could jump on your NES or Master System when the TV was free) then this clip will fill you with nothing but fond memories of simpler days and nostalgia for 2D beat-em up games".
