Man Becomes Scarecrow - The Last Straw
A small film crew meets the man who becomes a scarecrow every weekend.
Richard and his niece Rebecca head out to Applegate Farm every weekend. Richard previously was a bus driver but he explains one day while driving the bus he saw a scarecrow in a field and decided that being a scarecrow was the life for him. Ever since that day, he is a man living as a scarecrow on a farm. Being a scarecrow is the life for Richard. He is the adult scarecrow that lives peacefully on a farm every weekend until his niece Rebecca comes to collect him the following Monday morning.
For some people, they might think this is a rather strange hobby but for Richard, he loves becoming a scarecrow in a field for a couple of days. Richard loves the freedom he gets from spending time as a scarecrow on a farm every weekend. 'No Stress, no pressure & no baggage anymore holding me down' Richard quotes. However, things take an unexpected turn as Rebecca doesn't turn up when she is supposed to. The film crew have to intervene and eventually Rebecca turns up but Richard is not happy about her being so late.
They both leave the farm in a full-blown argument. The question is was this experience the last straw for both of them?
