Football Is Sex

A song about football... and cheating.

This video was created by the Drug Free Collective, who say: "This song touches on the many double entendres between the vocabulary of football and sex. The lyrics were written very much in the spirit of 1960s and 1970s British comedy such as the Carry On films, Benny Hill, The Two Ronnies, Dick Emery and Are You Being Served?. On the one hand, the words sound entirely innocent...

"The song references some smaller football clubs because football in England and Scotland is enriched by those kinds of clubs. The reference to Dover is also a tribute to striker Ricky Miller for his phenomenal goalscoring in his final season at Dover Athletic which earned him a new contract up two leagues with Peterborough United. The 'club doctor' is a reference to Eva Carneiro for her much admired stand against... well, you know the story. And amongst other references is one to Arthur Cox, the former Newcastle United manager who returned the club to the old First Division."
