- Katherine Ryan, Joel Dommett and Guz Khan are among the comics competing in Razor Sharp, a new improv show for Channel 4
- Nick Helm, Olga Koch, Toussaint Douglass and Abi Clarke also appear in the challenge format, hosted by TikTok star Victor Kunda
- Competitors are blindfolded before being dropped into unusual scenarios, such as delivering a lecture on something they know nothing about
Katherine Ryan, Joel Dommett and Guz Khan are among the stand-ups competing in a new improv show for Channel 4, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.
Hosted by TikTok sketch star Victor Kunda, Razor Sharp also features comics Nick Helm, Olga Koch, Toussaint Douglass and Abi Clarke, rapper Lady Leshurr and presenters Scarlett Moffatt and Remi Burgz, trying to improvise their way out of unusual circumstances, including arriving into an art gallery showcase and fooling the audience into believing that they're actually the artist, delivering a lecture on a subject they know nothing about and running a life coaching session.
The comedians and celebrities are blindfolded, then driven in pairs to an undisclosed location and immediately immersed into a range of scenarios where they must act as the lynchpin, using their wits to nail their improvisation as quickly as possible to beat their rival.
With the first episode launching on Channel 4's YouTube, Instagram and Facebook pages at noon today, Razor Sharp will see Kunda and an expert in the field of the challenge assessing the competitors' performances, before deciding who of each duo should be hailed the winner.
Russell Balkind (Late Night Mash, 8 Out Of 10 Cats) produces the series for Interstellar (Question Team) in partnership with Lucozade Alert. The executive producers are David Williams and Jamie Ormerod and it was commissioned by Channel 4 digital commissioning executive Joe Churchill.
"This new challenge-meets-improv comedy series aims to bring humour and hilarity to our audiences" said Churchill. "We have some fantastic names who have agreed to put themselves in some very unusual situations and the result is playful and mischievous, but with genuine jeopardy and good old authentic competition."
Williams, managing director of Interstellar, added: "Hats off to the plucky pairs of celebrities who agreed to be dropped into a whole new world with no prep, no plan and no clue. Whether they rose to the challenge or fell flat on their face, they each showed nerves of steel and made for brilliant viewing."
