Starstruck cast confirmed
- Rose Matafeo's new sitcom Starstruck will co-star Nikesh Patel as movie star character Tom
- Pls Like actors Emma Sidi and Jon Pointing, and stand-up Sindhu Vee are also amongst the cast
- Starstruck will be shown on BBC Three and BBC One later this year, with a second series confirmed
The cast has been confirmed for Starstruck, the new sitcom starring Rose Matafeo.
Due to air on BBC Three and BBC One later this year (as well as HBO Max in America, ABC in Australia, and TVNZ in New Zealand), the comedy follows Jessie (Matafeo), a millennial living in East London juggling two dead end jobs and navigating the awkward morning-after-the-night-before when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with famous film star Tom.
A first look picture shows Matafeo with Nikesh Patel, who has been revealed today as the actor playing leading man and love interest Tom.
The producers have also confirmed Minnie Driver is set to guest star, and other actors involved in the series include Pls Like stars Emma Sidi and Jon Pointing, and stand-up Sindhu Vee.
Joe Barnes, Nic Sampson, Lola-Rose Maxwell, Abraham Popoola and Ambreen Razia also appear in the series.
The episodes have been written by Matafeo and Alice Snedden. As revealed by British Comedy Guide in July, with filming delayed due to coronavirus, a decision was made to write a second series of the show before the first had been made.
Matafeo's Edinburgh Comedy Award winning show Horndog is currently available on BBC iPlayer as a stand-up special as part of the BBC's Festival Of Funny.
