  • Jason Isaacs will play former headmaster Mr Groff's more successful older brother in Sex Education Series 3
  • Girls star Jemima Kirke joins the cast as Hope, the new headmistress of Moordale High
  • Gender non-conforming artist Dua Saleh will play Cal, a new student

Three new regular cast members have been revealed for Netflix comedy drama Sex Education, which is due to return for a third series in 2021.

It has been announced that Jemima Kirke will play Hope, a former Moordale student and the new headmistress, who plans to turn Moordale back into the pillar of excellence it once was. British-born Kirke is best known for her role as Jessa in HBO's critically acclaimed series Girls.

Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs joins to the series to play Peter Groff, former headmaster Mr Groff's "more successful and not very modest" older brother, who Mr Groff has been staying with in the wake of his separation from Mrs Groff.

Meanwhile gender non-conforming recording artist and songwriter Dua Saleh has been signed up to play Cal, a non-binary new student at Moordale who instantly clashes with Hope's vision for the school.

Filming on the third series of Sex Education commenced in Wales earlier this month with stars Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa all returning.

Connor Swindells, Aimee Lou Wood, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Chaneil Kular, Simone Ashley, Mimi Keene, Tanya Reynolds, Mikael Persbrandt, Patricia Allison, Sami Outalbali, Anne-Marie Duff, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu and Alistair Petrie are also on set.

The eight new episodes will be published on Netflix in 2021.
