In a global first, Twitter will stream comedy special #LaughAt2017 on Sunday night.
Sponsored by UKTV's entertainment channel Dave, the programme will be made by production company Avalon and feature some of the company's top stand-up talent. It will appear on their @livecomedy account from 10:30pm.
According to a press release issued by Dave, it is the first time that Twitter has branched out into a comedy show, "with comics taking a look back at the last twelve months in the end of year stand-up show."
They say: "#LaughAt2017 will feature sets from 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominee Ahir Shah, acclaimed musical comedy duo Flo & Joan (pictured), the world's most famous prankster Lee Nelson, and critically-acclaimed comedian Lou Sanders. The show is hosted by double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Carl Donnelly."
Julia White of Twitter Entertainment Partnerships said: "Twitter and comedy go hand in hand so it's brilliant to be working with UKTV to bring such a great show direct and exclusive to all our users."
Luke Hales, Channel Director of Dave, adds: "This is a fantastic opportunity to support an innovative new show on social media. We are blown away by the line-up and can't wait to see our audience tweet along to what promises to be an hilarious look at 2017 - and let's face it, it's a year that's given everyone lots of material!"
The programme will be recorded at the Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green, East London, on Sunday afternoon. Free tickets
