- Russell Kane is to present Rage Room, a new online series
- The format sees two people competing to smash up a set featuring depictions of things that have annoyed them
- Eight episodes are being made for Channel 4's online platform All 4
Russell Kane is to present a new show for Channel 4's online platform All 4.
Rage Room is described as "a show in which two people will compete to lose their sh*t."
The producers explain: "Each week two people will enter Russell's Rage Room and pitch their own personal gripe, irritation or annoyance.
"Russell, along with a weekly celeb co-host, will interrogate their stories as they try to find the most deserving of the two. Whilst the loser is sent home with a stress ball, the winner gets the Rage Room of their dreams built; with all their key trigger points realised in a brilliantly visual set. They will then be allowed to trash the Rage Room in a brilliantly cathartic and comic finale."
Giving an example of a scenario, the channel says: "Been jilted at the aisle? Convince our panel of your pain and you can smash the hell out of a replica of your wedding day. The perfect cathartic release for the digital stress head generation."
The commission follows on from the launch of a 'rage room' in Birmingham where customers pay to destroy things with Brooklyn baseball bats.
Rage Room is being made by Mighty Productions. To apply to be on the show email: casting@mighty.productions
Each episode will be 15 minutes long, and Channel 4 has ordered eight episodes of the show, which will be published on All 4 later in the year.
Russell Kane's Facebook and YouTube videos in which he gets cross in a comic way about various topics regularly go viral. Below is his latest video, in which he talks about the word 'banter'.
