Nathan Cassidy releases stand-up special Amnesia on YouTube
Nathan Cassidy has opted for a Christmas Day release for his latest stand-up special, Amnesia.
The comic won the Best Stand-up title at the Brighton Fringe 2023 for Amnesia and the special was recorded later that year at the Edinburgh Fringe by RGB Monster in Just The Tonic's Big Cave.
Amnesia is described as a show involving 29 2-minute jokes 'without depth and soul' and 'without connection', for the TikTok generation. However, as the description explains: "As always with Nathan, things aren't quite what they first seem."
Speaking to BCG, the comic says: "I'm very excited to be able to give people an alternative to Christmas Day TV with the release of my first free special on YouTube. I won't give too much away but it's a bit like my show Observational this one, in that there's a magical feeling about it by the end, and people still tell me how much they enjoyed watching it live and how it moved them.
"That's giving too much away - ignore that - it's just 29 unconnected jokes to watch after Christmas Dinner and before a repeat of the Royal Variety Performance. ITV really have given up.
"If you want more specials, my first three (including Observational) are on Amazon Prime but no one pays for content any more. If you'd like to bung me some money after watching this one please subscribe to my Patreon or OnlyFans, where I will no doubt soon be showing you video of my feet. Details via my website. Thanks for watching and Happy Christmas!"
