Suzi Ruffell & Rhys James join kids for Channel 4's Tiny Day Trippers
Suzi Ruffell and Rhys James star in a new Channel 4 mini-series in which children lead them on adventures.
Launching tomorrow on the channel's social media platforms, Tiny Day Trippers finds the comics being taken to beaches and woods in Kent and Suffolk by their young charges, with the blessing of the kids' parents or guardians.
In the branded content, which is sponsored by Dairylea, Ruffell and James are surprised by where they end up going, "with the only rule being that if the kids point with their triangle the comedian must follow".
Tiny Day Trippers is made by Kalel Productions, which made Stand Up Road Trip - Tourism Ireland for the channel last year, featuring Ruffell and London-based Irish stand-up and sketch act Seán Burke driving and gigging around Ireland. The new series was commissioned by Stephen Parnell, digital commissioning executive at Channel 4.
"Creating change through entertainment is what Channel 4 does best and this campaign truly embodies this" said Jenny Porter, content lead for social branded entertainment at Channel 4. "The fun and light-hearted tone of this project makes Tiny Day Trippers a joy to watch whilst at its heart it offers a real purpose."
Nick Parnes, CEO of Kalel, added: "We're delighted to be working again with the brilliant Channel 4 sales team. Our last project, Stand Up Road Trip, featuring immature comedians was a success for Tourism Ireland, so we're sure comedians learning to be even more immature, this time round, will be a success for Dairylea."
