Frankie Boyle, Susie McCabe & Chris MacArthur-Boyd launch dark podcast
Frankie Boyle, Susie McCabe and Christopher Macarthur-Boyd are launching a new podcast sharing their "subversive and darkly funny opinions".
Here Comes The Guillotine will be available from 12th February from Global, with the three Glaswegian comics using "their unique, unbridled style of rebellious comedy to discuss any given topic".
With "zero theme and zero structure but brimming with grim conversation about the desolate world we live in", Global's head of comedy podcasts, Chris Lander said that "one of the best things about commissioning podcasts is the ability to put people together who are genuine friends and then giving them a platform to be their brilliant selves.
'The fact that Frankie, Susie and Christopher are also three of my favourite comedians makes this one extra special."
Meanwhile, John Robins and Elis James are relaunching their BBC Radio 5 Live podcast tomorrow, with two episodes a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Robins said: "Somehow we've created a bigger, smaller, longer, shorter, live and pre-recorded podcast, creating a digital bridge between BBC Sounds and Radio 5 Live."
Also returning after almost three years away is John-Luke Roberts's podcast Sound Heap.
Released by the Los Angeles-based Maximum Fun network, the show, which won best sketch show at the 2022 BBC Audio Drama Awards, is dubbed the "podcast of infinite podcasts" with the comic playing the CEO of the fictional Sound Heap network, whose aim is to make make too many podcasts.
Featuring clips from non-existent shows on the network, performed by comedians including Tom Allen, Isy Suttie and Kevin Eldon, Sound Heap launches on 19th February.
"I'm thrilled to be bringing Sound Heap to the Maximum Fun network," said Roberts. "In my opinion, they're not only one of the best podcast networks in the world, but also our greatest rival. I never dreamed we'd have the opportunity to bring them down from within."
