East Mode With Nigel Ng lands second series on Comedy Central
East Mode With Nigel Ng is returning to Comedy Central, with Ria Lina among those joining the cast for the second series, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.
Taiwanese comic Kuan-wen Huang has also joined the sketch show featuring predominantly East and South Asian talent, which will once again air on Comedy Central UK's YouTube and Facebook channels from June.
Andrea Valls and Ed Jones are also returning from the first series, which is directed by Chris Chung (Handuken, Soho Jimbo), with Mary Rose returning to produce for Viacom International Studios.
Ng recently completed an international stand-up tour that saw him perform on four continents and has signed a deal with US distributor and digital channels operator FilmRise to distribute clips of his Uncle Roger character as a series worldwide.
Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian man who reviews and roasts celebrity chefs for botching Asian cooking, has attracted more than a billion views on Ng's YouTube channel.
The Malaysian-Chinese comedian is also currently developing a television comedy with Gordon Ramsay's production company Studio Ramsay and an animated Uncle Roger series, as well as reportedly developing a film and sitcom with the US studio ABC Signature, a subsidiary of Disney Television Studios.
