BAFTA TV Awards 2013 nominations announced

BAFTA Award

The nominations for the British Academy Television Awards 2013 - aka the BAFTAs - have been announced.

Notably digital channel BBC Three receives a nomination in the form of political prank show The Revolution Will Be Televised, whilst fellow digital channel E4 is nominated for sketch show Cardinal Burns.

Meanwhile the relatively obscure Sky Atlantic has performed particularly well in the nominations, with programme and acting nods for both Hunderby and Alan Partridge.

Olympics linked Twenty Twelve has picked up multiple nominations, and the final series of The Thick Of It is in the running in the sitcom category.

Hit new BBC comedy drama Last Tango In Halifax has also received multiple nominations. It appears in the drama category, whilst stars Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid are nominated in the main acting categories, and Sarah Lancashire is up for best supporting actress.

Elsewhere, Nina Conti - A Ventriloquist's Story: Her Master's Voice is nominated in the best single documentary category, and Shameless is nominated for the soap and continuing drama award.


The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank on Sunday 12th May. The awards, which will be broadcast on BBC One, will once again be hosted by Graham Norton.
