The Thick of It news

The Thick of It is the latest British sitcom which could be re-made for an American audience. The high-brow political BBC4 comedy has been picked up by Sony who are working with Armando Iannucci, Mitchell Hurwitz and Richard Day to make a pilot to show the American networks.

The show returns to BBC4 this Christmas with a special feature episode. The plot will centre around the opposition party; a convenient twist on the premise of the show and one which will allow the BBC not to feature the character of Hugh Abbott (who is played by Chris Langham. The actor is accused of child sex offences).

The BBC has just had to defend its decision to broadcast a play on Radio 4 that starred "The Thick of It" actor. Mr Langham is due in court on the 22nd November to face the charges against him.
