Seventh series of QI confirmed
Some perhaps not-that-surprising news for the weekend...
QI, the hit intellectual panel game starring Stephen Fry and Alan Davies, has been commissioned for a seventh series. This somewhat-given commission allows the programme to continue on its 26-year-long project of covering every letter of the alphabet.
The sixth series, covering topics beginning with 'F' has been recorded and is due to be broadcast this autumn. Meanwhile Series 'G' will be recorded and broadcast next year. The official website has now opened up a section on their forum asking people to submit any quite interesting information on G-related subjects, some of which may well be used in the programme.
One of the show's head researchers, Piers 'Flash' Fletcher, has commented: I think a working assumption that we'll be in the hunt for G material is warranted.
This letter is already of some importance to QI, due to the final round of the show being titled 'General Ignorance' - a round in which everything seems obvious, but it tends to be misleading.
The first QI book, The Book of General Ignorance, was a No. 1 bestseller on Amazon.co.uk and details of a new official book have just been revealed - Advanced Banter will feature 'quite interesting quotes'. Meanwhile the DVD of the third series (Series C) is due for release on the 1st September.
