Lab Rats loses viewers

Friday 18th July 2008, 8:07am

The second episode of Lab Rats, the new BBC Two comedy by Chris Addison and Carl Cooper, saw its audience drop to 1.3 million. This is down 400,000 viewers from its debut last week. It also lost 2% audience share, leaving it with 6% between 9:30pm and 10pm.

Overall the negative reaction in the press to the science lab sitcom has calmed however, as can be seen from our press clippings page, the majority of critics are still posting negative reviews.

Jane Simon from The Mirror suggests the BBC "shunt it over to CBeebies", whilst The Times commented: "even with the best will in the world, this was still a painfully unfunny episode".

Mock the Week, which aired at 9pm, faired better. It maintained it 2.6 million viewers and a 12% share. A series two episode of Still Game which followed Lab Rats also attracted a larger audience. The repeat episode of the Scottish sitcom, which guest starred Celia Imrie, attracted 1.4 million and a 7% share. Meanwhile the second instalment of The Charlotte Church Show attracted 2 million and an 11% share over on Channel 4.
