Ricky Gervais' Extras nominated for Emmy awards

Ricky Gervais will have the chance to collect even more awards this September as both Extras and the American version of The Office have been nominated for this year's Emmys, aka "The Oscars of Television".

The final episode of Extras: The Extra Special Series Finale, has been nominated for six awards:

"Outstanding Lead Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie" for Gervais himself.

"Outstanding Writing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special" for Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

"Outstanding Directing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special" for Gervais.

"Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Miniseries Or A Movie" for editors Richard Halladey and Graham Baker.

"Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie" for Ashley Jensen.

"Outstanding Made for Television Movie"

Meanwhile, the American version of The Office has been nominated for eight awards in this, the sixtieth year of the Emmys.
