ITV2 commissions radio sitcom

ITV2 has commissioned a sitcom set in a radio station, starring Chris O'Dowd, Kevin Bishop and Nina Sosanya.

FM, which is to start production in October, will be set in the fictional independent radio station Skin FM. Described by ITV2 as "Peep Show meets The Office", the comedy will also feature appearances new up-and-coming music groups.

Saurabh Kakkar, the ITV controller of comedy said, "All the tracks on the show will feature hot new talent and be similar to those you would hear on XFM. We're talking with bands and labels who are all really excited about the concept and the script." Kakkar added that the programme was, "youthful and vibrant and will sit well on ITV2."

Kevin Bishop is to make a return to TV soon, with his new series The Kevin Bishop Show. It starts on Friday 18th (Our Guide). Meanwhile ITV2's first home-grown sitcom, No Heroics, will make its debut in September (Our Guide)
