The BBC has confirmed that it is working with double-act Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt to create a film version of their hit BBC Three sitcom. American trade magazine Variety has said that the film is currently being written, although shooting of it will probably not take place till next year.

The editor of BBC films, Christina Langan said "It's the perfect BBC project. Noel and Julian are phenomenally talented, there's an existing, very loyal fan base, and the project has huge potential."

The Mighty Boosh is a cult BBC Three sitcom which follows the surreal adventures of Vince Noir and Howard Moon. The third series was shown in late 2007 to very mixed reviews - most fans felt that it was a weak season with creators Fielding and Barratt having lost their focus and casting too many of their non-actor friends.
