The British Sitcom Guide 2007 Awards announced
The results of the 2007 British Sitcom Guide Awards have been announced.
Each year in January, the BSG runs a poll to discover what the best and worst British comedies of the previous year were. With over 90 new comedy series and pilots broadcast during 2007, there were plenty of comedies for voters to judge this year.
The results were as follows:
New British Sitcom
Best: Gavin and Stacey
Worst: The Life And Times Of Vivienne Vyle
Returning British Sitcom
Best: Peep Show
Worst: Hyperdrive
Sitcom Special
Best: Extras
Worst: To the Manor Born
Sketch Show
Best: The Armstrong and Miller Show
Worst: The Catherine Tate Show
Panel Show
Best: QI
Worst: And Then You Die
The BSG Readers' Awards
Best: The IT Crowd
Worst: Tittybangbang
BSG Annual Choice Award
Outnumbered

The BSG is changing into The British Comedy Guide later this year and thus the aim is to expand the 2008 awards with the intention of making them the biggest and most important wholly-voted-for-by-the-public awards in the British comedy industry (the British Comedy Awards on ITV are determined by a panel of judges, rather than the public).
