Viewers want Del Boy back for Christmas
According to a poll by YouGov, the British public claim that most Christmas television these days is disappointing, and want a return of classic series such as Only Fools and Horses.
57% of the 2,111 adults surveyed said that Christmas TV was "not as good as it used to be", and 24% said that it was "completely overrated". Only 9% thought it was "excellent festive entertainment".
The survey, which was carried out with the help of the media company ANT Software and commissioned by the website U-Talk, also discovered the programmes people most wanted to see. Number one on the list was 'blockbuster films' such as Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean. Second on the list however was Only Fools and Horses, the British sitcom that has a number of famous Christmas specials.
John Sullivan's sitcom was not the only comedy to make it into the top ten. Number four on the list was The Vicar of Dibley, seventh was Morecambe and Wise and eighth was The Simpsons, which was a favourite of people aged between 18 and 24.
