New BBC Radio 4 podcast feed available

BBC Radio 4 has created a new "Friday Night Comedy" podcast, allowing people to download the 6:30pm comedy show every week. The station currently broadcasts The News Quiz, The Now Show and Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive in that slot.

The News Quiz is the first downloadable show, as it started its new series yesterday. The satirical panel game, currently hosted by Sandi Toksvig, has been one of Radio 4's longest running comedies, having started in 1977.

A series of The Now Show, which stars Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis (pictured), was originally part of a very popular podcast trial last year. The downloadable version of the show did differ in some aspects, the main one being most music clips could not be included in the podcast due to copyright restrictions.

The Now Show will return to Radio 4 for a 23rd series once The News Quiz has finished its current run.
