Alan Carr signs C4 golden handcuffs deal

Camp comic Alan Carr has signed a golden handcuffs deal with Channel 4. It is estimated that the broadcaster is paying the Friday Night Project host around £500,000 for the one-year deal to ensure he works exclusively for them.

Carr's first new project will be Celebrity Ding Dong - a new gameshow where the public play against celebrities to win prizes.

Last week Carr turned down a rival bid from ITV - they wanted him to host a revamped version of Blind Date.
