Stealing jokes? Homophobe!
After being accused of stealing material by Joe Rogan, gay American comic 'Ant' has hit back - by labelling him a homophobe.
Rogan, as part of an ongoing campaign to expose comics stealig the material of others, pointed out a number of similarities between Ant's material, and that of such names as George Carlin.
But on his MySpace profile, Ant responded: "I think because Joe just can't come right out and call me a FAGGOT, he has found another way to gaybash."
And it is not the first time that Ant has been accused of material theft by Rogan; when he appeared on the programme Last Comic Standing as a contestant, one particular joke seemed to be lifted directly from the movie Boiler Room.
On his profile, Ant was prepared for Joe's response, adding "I can't wait to hear him proclaim, 'Ant's using the homophobic card? How come a straight guy can't talk about a gay guy and blah blah blah.' A spade is a spade and I call 'em like I see 'em."
Here at the BSG, we can't help but think that it's exactly that...
In similar news, the BBC has been accused of pandering to the PC brigade by cutting a line from a repeat of Porridge last weekend.
In the uncut episode, referring to Lukewarm (an homosexual character, played by gay actor Christopher Biggins) keeping his cell in perfect condition, Fletcher adds "That sort do, don't they?"
Biggins himself has responded to the controversy; "I find it quite extraordinary and one of the most anal things I have ever heard. It was always so well done, the gay thing. Very sensitively handled."
The BBC said in a statement, "We always endeavour to transmit classic comedies in their original state. However, on rare occasions due to viewer complaints or running time we make a slight edit."
