Eranu or Uvavu? Shooting Stars may return
The comedy TV quiz format Shooting Stars may be set to return to our screens, five years since the show's last comeback.
The panel game, created by and starring long-running double act Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, ran between 1995-2002. The show saw the presenters' surreal comedy enter a more mainstream format, asking questions with nonsensical answers, and featuring bizarre rounds such as the Club Singer Round and the Dove From Above. It also created the catchphrases "Eranu" and "Uvavu", as well as "We really wanna to see those fingers."
Reeves (real name Jim Moir) told the Daily Mirror that he is 90% confident that the show will return. He said, "We've had a meeting with the BBC about Shooting Stars coming back and it's looking very hopeful. We'll have to see if Ulrika [Jonsson] is up for it. I've been waiting to get back together with Bob and do new material."
The show also saw Matt Lucas playing really big baby and man with the scores, George Dawes, and then later his mother Marjorie Dawes (who went on to become a character in Little Britain). Other than Lucas and Jonsson, other regular participants included Mark Lamarr, Will Self and Johnny Vegas.
Apart from their sketch shows such as Vic Reeves Big Night Out, other works with Vic and Bob have included the sitcom Catterick and a remake of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Vic Reeves also recently presented Radio 2's panel show Does The Team Think?
