Garth Marenghi announces final book in TerrorTome trilogy and tour

Monday 31st March 2025, 11:13am

Matthew Holness

The final book in Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome trilogy will be published in October, written again by creator Matthew Holness.

Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth continues the adventures of horror author Nick Steen, who has appeared in Marenghi's two previous bestselling titles, Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome and Garth Marenghi's Incarcerat. In this third volume o' terrifying tales, Nick is having visions: a sinister black steeple, eerie Catherine wheels in the sky that aren't remotely Catherine wheels... plus a giant skeleton with a moustache. Are they omens? Auguries? Portents of things to come? (Spoiler: yes, they are.) For Nick's imagination is bursting out of his brain and threatening to burst in turn the entirety of Stalkford. Can Nick stop the aforesaid bursting? Or have things already slightly burst regardless?

Following the runaway success of his critically acclaimed Terrortome and Incarcerat tours, which sold over 50,000 tickets across the UK and Europe, Holness will undertake Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth Book Tour between October 2025 and May 2026.

The character Garth Marenghi says: "If you possess a brain, you will want to fill that brain with my visions. Specifically, my visions of a Bursted Earth. Said visions can be witnessed via the act of reading my related tome Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth. This book follows my 2022 novel Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome which was an instant Sunday Times bestseller and Garth Marenghi's Incarcerat in 2023, both now followed in turn by the aforesaid volume Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth. The full title, by the way, is Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth. Not Garth Marenghi's Bursted Earth or Garth Marenghi's Earth That Was Bursted. It's Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth."

The book is available to pre-order now. Tickets for the tour go on sale on Wednesday 2nd April at 10am. A full list of dates are below. Tickets are on sale from sites including Ticketmaster

Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth

Garth Marenghi's This Bursted Earth
By Matthew Holness

Horror author Nick Steen is having visions... A sinister Black Steeple; eerie lights in the sky that look like a Catherine wheel but are not remotely a Catherine wheel... Plus a giant skeleton with a moustache. Are they omens? Auguries? Portenderings of things to come? (Spoiler - yes, they are.)

For Nick Steen's imagination is bursting out of his brain and threatening to burst in turn the entirety of Stalkford.

Can Nick stop the aforesaid bursting? Or have things already slightly burst regardless? And will there ultimately be a grand finale to this three-book series (aka a trilogy) or a more open-ended conclusion in order to leave potential room for further sequels? (That, BTW, will ultimately be Garth's decision.)

From the fevered imaginata of Horror Fiction's Grand Frightener Garth Marenghi, author of Sunday Times-best-selling Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome and Garth Marenghi's Incarcerat, come three freshly rancid tales of... st=8443]This Bursted Earth[/st].
