Tuesday 8th March 2022, 5:30pm

Chortle Awards

The nominees have been announced for the Chortle Awards 2022, with Bob Mortimer, Liz Kingsman and Adam Rowe leading the shortlists, with two nominations apiece.

This is the 20th year the website Chortle.co.uk has run its awards. Primarily focusing on the live comedy scene, the awards are noted for "celebrating comedy at every level", from newcomers to established TV names.

As always, the shortlists were chosen by a panel of comedy journalists and bookers, with the winners now set to be determined via a public vote.

Audible is sponsoring the emerging talent categories, whilst the podcast category is sponsored by voiceover agency Sue Terry Voices. The company's head of comedy, Vicky Hopewell, comments: "Podcasts kept us all cheered up during the pandemic, and kept an intimate connection between comedians and their audiences, that's why Sue Terry Voices is delighted to sponsor the Best Podcast category of the Chortle Awards. Good luck to all the nominees."

The voting form - which also asks about live comedy venues - is open until 5pm on 17th March. The winners will be announced on 30th March.
