Writers' Guild Awards 2019 shortlist

- The writers of Derry Girls, Inside No. 9 and Detectorists are nominated for Writers' Guild awards
- In the radio category, Lee Ridley, Katherine Jakeways, Jessica Hynes and Sarah Kendall are shortlisted
- The results will be announced on the 14th January in a ceremony hosted by Joanna Scanlan
The shortlists for The Writers' Guild of Great Britain Awards 2019 have been revealed.
The comedy-related nominations are:
Best TV Situation Comedy


Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith for the 'Zanzibar' episode of Inside No. 9

Mackenzie Crook for Detectorists
Best Radio Comedy

Lee Ridley and Katherine Jakeways for Ability


Sarah Kendall for Volume 2, Part 1 of Sarah Kendall: Australian Trilogy
Best Online Comedy
Tim Grewcock and Shaun Lowthian for Spokke:
Arnab Chanda and Chris Hayward for Three Cool Days:
Hannah George and Tasha Dhanraj for Where Are You From? The Game:
Elsewhere in the nominations, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is shortlisted for Killing Eve, alongside Charlie Covell for The End Of The F***ing World in the Best Long Form TV Drama category.
Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett Jones receive a nod for the 'Night of the Living Veg' episode of Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed!; and The Death Of Stalin writing team are up for Best Screenplay.
The results will be announced on Monday 14th January 2019 at a ceremony at the Royal College of Physicians in central London, hosted by No Offence star Joanna Scanlan.
