Inbetweeners, Miranda and Rev fight it out in RTS Award
The Inbetweeners, Miranda and Rev (pictured) have been nominated in this year's Royal Television Society Awards.
The three sitcoms are nominated in the 'Scripted Comedy' category, while James Buckley, Miranda Hart and Tom Hollander have been nominated for the 'Comedy Performance' award.
Meanwhile, the award for the best comedy writer is between Graham Linehan for The IT Crowd; Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong for Peep Show; and Jo Brand, Vicki Pepperdine and Joanna Scanlan for Getting On.
Elsewhere in the nomination lists, Charlie Brooker and Graham Norton are up for the 'Entertainment Performance' award, alongside Ant and Dec. Two comedy dramas have also been nominated. E4's Misfits is up for the 'Drama Series' award, while BBC One's The Indian Doctor is in the running for the 'Daytime or Early-Peak Programme' award.
British Comedy Award winner Horrible Histories is nominated in the 'Children's Programme' category, while The League of Gentlemen's Mark Gatiss appears in the 'Arts' shortlist for his documentary A History of Horror.
The winners of the Royal Television Society Awards 2011 will be announced on 15th March in a ceremony hosted by Dara O'Briain at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
