E4 comedy drama Misfits is up for three Broadcast Awards.

The categories in which the superhero comedy has been nominated are "Best Drama Series or Serial", "Best New Programme", and "Best Multichannel Programme". The later of these awards also has BBC Four comedy drama Getting On and E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners fighting for it.

Elsewhere, the award for "Best Comedy Programme" is being fought between six sitcoms: Benidorm, The IT Crowd, Miranda, Outnumbered, Rev and The Thick of It.

Meanwhile three children's comedy shows - Roy, Sorry I've Got No Head and Horrible Histories (the later of which won three Children's BAFTAs last Sunday) - are up for "Best Children's Programme".

Also, ITV comedy drama The Fattest Man in Britain is in the running for "Best Single Drama", and John Bishop's Britain is in the running for "Best Entertainment Programme".

The winners of The Broadcast Awards 2011, which are organised by media trade publication Broadcast, will be announced at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 2nd February 2011.
