All three awards given out to individual programmes at this year's Channel of the Year Awards have been won by British comedy shows.

BBC One sitcom Outnumbered (pictured) won the award for "Best Terrestrial Programme", beating Doctor Who, The X Factor, Harry Hill's TV Burp and Flash Forward.

The award for "Best Non-Terrestrial Programme" went to E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners. Other programmes nominated in the category were 30 Rock, Glee, Newswipe With Charlie Brooker and Pineapple Dance Studios.

Meanwhile E4 comedy drama Misfits received "The Network and Fast Track Choice Award", defeating One Born Every Minute and Pineapple Dance Studios.

The award was voted on by 150 delegates attending the Edinburgh International Television Festival, where the awards are presented.

Elsewhere during the ceremony, which was hosted by stand-up Jack Whitehall, Channel 4 was voted "Best Terrestrial Channel of the Year" and BBC Three won "Best Non-Terrestrial Channel of the Year".
