Voting for this year's TV Choice Awards has opened, with Benidorm (pictured), Gavin & Stacey and Outnumbered fighting each other to be named 'Best Comedy'.

The three sitcoms have been nominated alongside E4's American comedy import The Big Bang Theory.

Meanwhile, the award for 'Best Entertainment Show' is between: Alan Carr: Chatty Man, oddball satire Harry Hill's TV Burp and panel shows QI and Celebrity Juice.

Two British comedy dramas have been nominated for the 'Best New Drama' award. Married Single Other and Misfits are in the running alongside American shows Glee and The Vampire Diaries. Shameless is nominated for 'Best Drama Series'.

The winners of these awards, which are run by the TV Choice listings magazine, are decided by a public vote. Web voting closes on the 9th July, with winners being revealed on the 6th September. Click here to vote
